Motherboard

Motherboard was a collective and performative project that I did with Niny Gamboa, Lolo Villacis and Julieta Anaut. The name Motherboard refers, on the one hand, to the card that gathers all those printed circuits that allow interconnecting the various elements that make up a computer and that is a fundamental and necessary organ for any computer to function, because it contains the basic components. On the other, it refers to the female womb that gives birth, which has the necessary technology to produce bios, the source from which all networks and connections are born; that is to say, women as creative power.

The Motherboard project begins to build its collective identity in May 2017 on the Facebook platform as @placamadreperformancera, and enters virtual and territorial action on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Arte x Arte Gallery of the City of Buenos Aires.

In this Motherboard the concepts of body, technology, feminism, performance and cyborg identity are involved. Technology is and has been for women a mediation that optimizes life and their own creative power. In the same way, we observe that the fabric is a concept that is present both in original feminine developments and in cyberfeminist networks nowadays. Therefore, we use the fabric to develop the performative second skin, as a bodily and linking mode of action and as a virtual network that allows us to constitute artistic and political identity, at the same time that it allows us to build encounters in virtual and real territories.

When Motherboard was born as a collective identity through the Facebook platform, it shouted its own manifesto: I am a cybercorporality of all those erased from the history of technology. The streets and networks are not given to us, that is why we take them all. We are alive and co-present in all spaces and supports.

Through Facebook she connected with different territories, with which she chatted and shared all the possibilities offered by the social network, in addition to the live transmission of his territorial actions

I am a cybercorporality of all those erased from the history of technology. The streets and networks are not given to us, that is why we take them all. We are alive and co-present in all spaces and supports.
